After two years, Asia’s largest high-speed rail station was completed and put into operation

Xiongan Station started construction on December 1, 2018; the main structure was topped out on April 30, 2020; and on December 27, 2020, it was put into operation. The construction of Asia’s largest high-speed railway station took two full years from the start of construction to putting it into operation, once again setting a new construction record for similar projects.

At 10:18 a.m. on December 27, train C2702 from Xiongan Station to Beijing West Station officially departed and arrived at Beijing West Station directly at 11:00 a.m. The whole journey lasted 42 minutes. The entire section of the Beijing to Xiongan New Area Intercity Railway from Daxing Airport to Xiongan New Area was opened for operation. Xiongan Station of Beijing-Hsiungsiung Intercity Railway, the first major infrastructure project in Xiongan New Area and the largest high-speed railway station in Asia, was officially put into operation.

The main line of the Jingxiong Intercity High-speed Railway is 92.79 kilometers long, with five stations. Xiongan Station is the largest station of the whole line, with a total construction area of 475,200 square meters, equivalent to 6 Beijing stations and the size of 66 soccer fields. The total size of the station is 13 platforms and 23 lines, which will be built once and put into use in phases.

Nowadays, Xiongan New Area can reach Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang and other major cities in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region through high-speed railway, quickly integrating into the half-hour transportation circle of Beijing and Tianjin, and the one-hour transportation circle of Shijiazhuang, which further improves the structure of high-speed railroad network of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, enhances the radiation capacity of Xiongan New Area to the whole country, dissolves the non-capital functions of Beijing and promotes the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

“Station and city as one” builds a high-quality product with craftsmanship.

As the first high-speed railroad station in China to adopt clear-water concrete technology on a large scale, Xiongan Station of Beijing-Hsiungsiung Intercity Railway is cast in one go and has an upright and handsome structure.

Xiongan Station is a bridge station, the track layer of the depot is directly connected to the second floor of the station, and the ground station can be directly stepped into the waiting area, and the station house adopts the integrated design of the station and city, with the layering of in and out, and the separation of the arrival and departure, which can realize the passenger flow of “more in and more out”. High-speed rail passengers can leave the station to transfer to subway and bus in “zero distance”.

In addition, the station has a “smart brain”, which can monitor the whole process of the whole station monitoring equipment, electric meter, water meter, escalator, straight ladder, etc., and once the equipment fails, it can be repaired in time, which can provide a convenient experience for the travelers. For the first time, the assembly acoustic platform wall can also reduce the noise caused by the train entering the station to make waiting for the train more quiet.

Intelligent construction quenching “steel transformation”

Xiongan station station core skeleton for the steel structure project, the total amount of steel used in the project is about 131,000 tons, the maximum weight of 33 tons of segments, the use of high-material steel, the maximum thickness of the steel plate can be up to 80 millimeters, mainly distributed in the track level and the following strong structure, elevated level steel structure, elevated waiting room roof and canopy structure and other areas.

The whole process of construction of Xiongan Station adopts BIM technology to vigorously build a 5G+edge computing intelligent construction site, using BIM’s integrated visualization advantages in the field to use intelligent sampling robots, drones and other equipment and tilt camera technology, collecting data models in phases and from multiple perspectives to provide a reference basis for the integrated management of the project, adopting the intelligent monitoring technology of deep foundation pits, intelligent tower crane collision avoidance system, and intelligent monitoring system of high supporting molds. The system realizes a number of functions such as measurement point statistics, data analysis, early warning control and inspection, and real-time monitoring of the whole process of construction operations.

The steel structure roof of Jinxiong intercity depot adopts the ground in-situ assembly + overall lifting technology, lifting a total load of 2800 tons, lifting height of about 28 m. At the same time, it adopts the digital hierarchical monitoring platform to set the automatic adjustment of the system parameters, realizing the dynamic control on the large-span arched variable cross-section steel frame roof and high-precision synchronous lifting to ensure the lifting process is smooth and controllable.

The green “valley of light” runs through the north and south of the station

The gaps in the roof of Xiongan Station form the characteristic “valley of light” and “valley of green”, which naturally divides the Beijing-Hsiung, Beijing-Hong Kong-Taiwan Railway Yard and the Jin-Hsiung Yard, and also serves as an outdoor landscaped courtyard as a light corridor that runs up and down, bringing natural light and landscape into the interior. At the same time, it also becomes an outdoor landscape courtyard as a light corridor that connects the upper and lower parts of the station, bringing natural light and landscape into the interior.

The total area of the station’s roofing system is 160,000 square meters, with 42,000 square meters of photovoltaic building materials laid on the roof, and its photovoltaic power generation can be used for lighting in the station, with a total capacity of 6 megawatts, which saves 1,800 tons of standard coal and reduces 4,500 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, which is equivalent to planting 120,000 hectares of trees.

One stop, one view to create a “humanistic Beijing and Xiong”

Xiong’an station appearance to Baiyangdian water culture as the source, using the “green lotus drip dew” design theme was a drop-shaped ellipse shape, oval roof outline as a source of clear water, like a petal of dew on the green lotus.

Through the use of architectural language, decorative patterns, green design, light and shadow technology and other means, the twenty-four seasons elements are integrated into the glass curtain wall to symbolize the change of the four seasons.
